What is the Seat Concepts XSR900 Comfort Seat Cover?
The Comfort Seat Cover is a Foam & Cover Kit for the 2016 to 2021 Yamaha XSR900. It is not a complete seat. It levels out the seating platform, so you stop sliding forward into the tank every time you brake, and its foam keeps supporting you after hours in the saddle. If your XSR900 seat gets tough on your back after an hour, this XSR900 comfort seat kit is the upgrade for that, and it keeps the retro look of the bike.
Which XSR900 years does the Comfort Seat Cover fit?
This Yamaha XSR900 seat fits the 2016 to 2021 XSR900. If you are looking for a 2022 XSR900 seat, this kit does not cover that year, so ask us with your bike's year before you order.
What is the XSR 900 seat height with this kit?
The kit comes in Standard height only, which matches the factory seat, so it does not raise or lower your XSR 900 seat height. If you are checking the Yamaha XSR 900 seat height before you buy, the change is zero, and the seating area is 10-3/4 inches (273 mm) wide with the same length as the factory seat.
Is there an XSR900 low seat or a tall seat?
No. This kit comes in Standard height only, so we do not offer an XSR900 low seat or a tall version. What it changes is the shape: it levels out the seating platform.
Is this an XSR900 seat upgrade or a replacement?
Both. It is an XSR900 seat upgrade sold as a Foam & Cover Kit, with new foam and a new cover together. It replaces the factory foam and cover, which makes it an XSR900 seat replacement and an XSR900 aftermarket seat in one. You get the XSR 900 seat cover and the foam in the same kit.
Can I order an XSR 900 custom seat with a suede-style cover?
Yes. If you want an XSR900 suede seat, choose black diamante sides. Black diamante is a suede-like synthetic made to match the factory synthetic suede on production street and adventure bikes, and it is flexible with moderate grip. The top comes in black vinyl or black semi-grip with diamante sides, or you can choose the all black carbon fiber cover, which costs less than the two diamante covers. Black semi-grip is the low-slip top: its beaded cross weave keeps you in position but lets you move around the seat, and it works with casual clothing such as jeans as well as riding gear. Black vinyl is a semi-smooth vinyl-based material with the classic Seat Concepts look and low grip, so you can move freely on the seat.
Is this an XSR900 gel seat or a touring seat?
It is not a gel seat. The kit uses Seat Concepts' own foam, rated medium density and 5% softer than the factory foam. It works as an XSR900 touring seat for long weekend rides because the platform is level and the foam stays supportive for hours.
How long does the XSR900 Comfort Seat Cover take to arrive?
Every Seat Concepts kit is made to order, so please allow 6 to 8 weeks for production and shipment. Because each kit is built to your options, returns and cancellations carry a 20% fee. We are an authorized Seat Concepts dealer, and every kit is built with Seat Concepts' proprietary foam formula and individually inspected before shipment.
