What is the Seat Concepts YZ125 and YZ250 Race 2.0 Seat?
The Race 2.0 is a complete seat that keeps you glued to your Yamaha YZ during a hard moto. Built-in traction ribs act like teeth to hold you in place when you accelerate or hit the brakes hard, and pro race teams helped develop the design so you can focus on your lines. The foam is rated medium density, 5% softer than the factory foam. It is a YZ250 gripper seat and a YZ 125 gripper seat made for the track or the trail.
Which YZ models and years does it fit?
It fits the Yamaha YZ125 and YZ250 two-stroke from 2002 to 2021, and the YZ125X and YZ250X two-stroke from 2016 to 2022. For the 2022 and newer bikes, see the 2022 and newer YZ125 and YZ250 Race 2.0 Seat Cover.
What is the YZ 125 seat height, and what does the Race 2.0 change?
Yamaha gives the 2025 YZ125 as 38.6 inches, the 2025 YZ250 as 38.4 inches, the 2025 YZ125X as 38.2 inches and the 2025 YZ250X as 38.4 inches. That is the YZ 125 seat height, the YZ 250 seat height and the YZ125X seat height before you change the seat. The Race 2.0 comes in Low, Standard and Tall. Low is 1 inch (25 mm) lower than the factory seat, Standard matches it, and Tall is 5/8 inch (16 mm) taller. The width and length stay the same as the factory seat.
Is there a YZ250 low seat or a YZ250 tall seat?
Yes. Low is 1 inch (25 mm) lower, which makes it a YZ250 low seat and a YZ125 low seat for shorter riders. Tall is 5/8 inch (16 mm) taller, which makes it a YZ250 tall seat and a YZ 250 tall seat for taller riders.
Can I buy a YZ250 seat cover or a YZ125 seat cover on its own?
Yes. Choose Cover Only for a YZ250 seat cover, a YZ 250 seat cover, a YZ125 seat cover or a YZ 125 seat cover for your own foam. It is the Race 2.0 wire gripper cover with the traction ribs and has no foam in it.
Which colors can I choose?
The sides and top come in black or cobalt blue wire gripper, and the ribs come in black, cobalt blue or white. Wire gripper has a mechanical gripping texture that gives a high level of grip and limits movement on the seat in all conditions.
How long does a YZ125 Race 2.0 Seat take to arrive?
Every Seat Concepts seat is made to order, so please allow 6 to 8 weeks for production and shipment. Because each seat is built to your options, returns and cancellations carry a 20% fee. We are an authorized Seat Concepts dealer, and every seat is built with Seat Concepts' proprietary foam formula and individually inspected before shipment.
