YZ125 and YZ250 Element Seat Cover FAQ (2022 and newer)
What is the Seat Concepts YZ125 and YZ250 Element Seat Cover?
It is a Foam & Cover Kit, not a complete seat, for riders who head out when the weather looks messy. Traction ribs at the back keep you planted during fast starts, the inside is wrapped in a water barrier, and the seams are sealed to keep moisture away from the foam. The foam is rated medium density, 5% softer than the factory foam.
Which YZ models and years does it fit?
It fits the Yamaha YZ125 and YZ250 from 2022 on, and the YZ125X and YZ250X from 2023 on, so it rebuilds a YZ125 seat and a YZ250 seat for those years.
What is the YZ 250 seat height, and what does the kit change?
Yamaha gives the 2025 YZ125 as 38.6 inches, the 2025 YZ250 as 38.4 inches, the 2025 YZ125X as 38.2 inches and the 2025 YZ250X as 38.4 inches. That is the YZ 250 seat height, the YZ 125 seat height, the YZ125X seat height and the YZ250X seat height before you change anything. The kit comes in Low and Standard. Low is 1 inch (25 mm) lower than the factory seat and 7-1/2 inches (191 mm) wide, and Standard matches the factory height at 7-5/16 inches (186 mm) wide.
Is there a YZ250X low seat or a YZ250 low seat?
Yes. Low is 1 inch (25 mm) lower than the factory seat, so it works as a YZ250X low seat, a YZ250 low seat and a YZ125 low seat. There is no Tall option in this kit.
Will the Element kit hold up in mud and rain?
It is built for it. The foam is wrapped in a water barrier and the seams are sealed, which keeps moisture out of the foam.
Which colors and ribs can I choose?
The sides and top come in black or cobalt blue wire gripper, and the ribs come in black, cobalt blue or white, or you can choose no ribs on the Standard height. Wire gripper has a mechanical gripping texture that gives a high level of grip and limits movement on the seat in all conditions.
