What is the Seat Concepts YZ125 and YZ250 Comfort Seat Cover?
It is a Foam & Cover Kit for the seat you already have, not a complete seat. The factory seat on a YZ125 or YZ250 can get painful on long trail days, and the kit changes the shape to give you a wider, more level place to sit. It stops you from sliding forward into the tank and rounds out the edges for a smoother feel. The foam is rated medium density, 5% softer than the factory foam.
Which YZ models and years does it fit?
It fits the Yamaha YZ125 and YZ250 from 2022 to 2026, and the YZ125X and YZ250X from 2023 to 2026, so it rebuilds a YZ125 seat and a YZ250 seat for those years. For the 2002 to 2021 bikes, see the 2002 to 2021 YZ125 and YZ250 Comfort Seat.
What is the YZ 125 seat height, and what does the kit change?
Yamaha gives the 2025 YZ125 as 38.6 inches, the 2025 YZ250 as 38.4 inches, the 2025 YZ125X as 38.2 inches and the 2025 YZ250X as 38.4 inches. That is the YZ 125 seat height, the YZ 250 seat height, the YZ125X seat height and the YZ250X seat height before you change anything. The kit comes in Low and Standard. Low is 1 inch (25 mm) lower than the factory seat and 7-1/2 inches (190 mm) wide, and Standard matches the factory height at 7-5/16 inches (186 mm) wide.
Is there a YZ250X low seat or a YZ250 low seat?
Yes. Low is 1 inch (25 mm) lower than the factory seat, so it works as a YZ250X low seat, a YZ250 low seat and a YZ125 low seat for shorter riders. There is no Tall option in this kit.
Which covers can I choose?
You can choose black carbon fiber sides with a black sandpaper top, or a cobalt blue wire gripper top. Black carbon fiber is a semi-smooth vinyl-based material with low grip. Black sandpaper is the high-grip top: its texture is like low-grit sandpaper, it holds you in position, and it works best with purpose-built riding gear. Wire gripper has a mechanical gripping texture that gives a high level of grip and limits movement on the seat in all conditions.
Is this a complete seat?
No. It is a Foam & Cover Kit, so you get new foam and a new cover together for your existing seat base. There is no cover-only option in this kit.
How long does a YZ125 Comfort kit take to arrive?
Every Seat Concepts seat is made to order, so please allow 6 to 8 weeks for production and shipment. Because each seat is built to your options, returns and cancellations carry a 20% fee.
