Product Description
Your classic Kawasaki KLR650 is built for long miles, but the stock seat can often feel like a wooden plank. This Seat Concepts Comfort seat changes the shape to keep you level and stop you from sliding forward into the tank. It is the perfect choice for riders who spend hours on the road or have a long daily commute. The wider Commuter shape gives your legs more support so you can stay in the saddle longer without pain.
Each seat uses a special foam that stays firm while feeling soft where you need it most. You can choose between Standard, Low, or Tall heights to find the perfect reach to the ground. These complete seats arrive ready to bolt on with high-quality covers that look great and last for years.

KLR650 Comfort Seat FAQ (1987 to 2019)
What is the Seat Concepts KLR650 Comfort Seat?
The KLR650 Comfort Seat is a complete Kawasaki KLR650 seat for the Kawasaki KLR650 from 1987 to 2019. It changes the shape of a plank-like factory seat so you stay level and stop sliding into the tank, and the wider Commuter shape gives your legs more support on long days. The foam stays firm while feeling soft where you need it, and it is rated medium density, 5% softer than the factory foam.
Which KLR650 years does this seat fit?
This Kawasaki KLR 650 seat fits the KLR650 from 1987 to 2019. It also works as a 2008 KLR 650 seat, or any year in that range. For a 2022 to 2025 bike, see the 2022 to 2025 KLR650 seat.
Is there a KLR 650 low seat?
Yes. For a KLR 650 low seat, or a KLR 650 lower seat as it is also searched, choose Low. It sits 1 inch (25 mm) lower than the factory seat, and the Comfort Low width is 12 inches (305 mm). In the Commuter width the Low seat is 12-1/4 inches (311 mm) wide.
Is there a tall seat, and how wide is each width?
Tall sits 1.5 inches (38 mm) higher than the factory seat and is 10.5 inches (267 mm) wide, in the Comfort width. Standard is 12-3/8 inches (314 mm) wide, Comfort XL is 13.5 inches (343 mm) wide in Standard height, and the Commuter Standard width is 12-5/8 inches (321 mm).
Is this a KLR 650 seat upgrade and a good touring seat?
It is a KLR 650 seat upgrade and a KLR 650 comfort seat that replaces the factory seat, and it is built for long days. As a KLR 650 touring seat, the XL and Commuter widths give the most room. It is not a gel seat, so a KLR 650 gel seat search will not find it here: Seat Concepts uses its own foam. You choose the height, the width and the cover top, which is why it works as a KLR 650 custom seat and a KLR 650 aftermarket seat, and many riders ask which is the best KLR 650 seat for their height.
Can I buy a KLR 650 seat cover on its own?
No. This is a complete seat, so we do not sell a KLR 650 seat cover alone. The foam and cover are built together.
Which Seat Concepts KLR 650 combinations can I order?
For the Seat Concepts KLR 650 seat: Low, Standard and Tall come in the Comfort width, Comfort XL comes in Standard height, and the Commuter width comes in Standard and Low. The sides are black carbon fiber or black vinyl. Black sandpaper is the high-grip top: its texture is like low-grit sandpaper, it holds you in position, and it works best with purpose-built riding gear. Black semi-grip is the low-slip top: its beaded cross weave keeps you in position but lets you move around the seat, and it works with casual clothing such as jeans as well as riding gear.
How long does a KLR650 seat take to arrive?
Every Seat Concepts seat is made to order, so please allow 6 to 8 weeks for production and shipment. Because each seat is built to your options, returns and cancellations carry a 20% fee. We are an authorized Seat Concepts dealer, and every seat is built with Seat Concepts' proprietary foam formula and individually inspected before shipment.
What does the KLR650 Comfort Seat cost?
The seat is $429.60 or $449.60, depending on the height, width and cover you choose, and the price updates as you pick your options.
