What is the Seat Concepts Honda XR250R and XR400R Comfort Seat Cover?
It is a Foam & Cover Kit for the seat you already have, not a complete seat. The factory seat on the XR250R and XR400R is hard on your body, and the kit makes the seating area wider and more level. It stops you from sliding forward and helps you stay comfortable on long days in the woods. The foam is rated medium density, 5% softer than the factory foam. It is an XR400 seat upgrade for a rugged dirt bike you can ride all day.
Which years does it fit?
It fits the Honda XR250 and XR400 from 1996 to 2004, so it rebuilds an XR250 seat, an XR400 seat and an XR400R seat for those years.
What is the XR400 seat height, and what does the kit change?
Honda gives the 2004 XR400R seat height as 36.6 inches and the 2004 XR250R as 36.0 inches. That is the XR400 seat height, the XR 400 seat height, the Honda XR 400 seat height, the XR250 seat height and the Honda XR 250 seat height before you change the seat. The kit comes in Standard height only, the same as the factory seat, and it is 9.5 inches (241 mm) wide with the same length as the factory seat.
Can I buy an XR400 seat cover or an XR250 seat cover on its own?
No. The XR400 seat cover, the XR 400 seat cover, the XR250 seat cover and the XR 250 seat cover come as a Foam & Cover Kit, so you get new foam and a new cover together for your existing seat base. There is no cover-only option.
Which covers can I choose?
You can choose black or red carbon fiber sides with a black sandpaper or black semi-grip top. Black carbon fiber is a semi-smooth vinyl-based material with low grip. Black sandpaper is the high-grip top: its texture is like low-grit sandpaper, it holds you in position, and it works best with purpose-built riding gear. Black semi-grip is the low-slip top: its beaded cross weave keeps you in position but lets you move around the seat, and it works with casual clothing such as jeans as well as riding gear.
How long does an XR400 seat kit take to arrive?
Every Seat Concepts seat is made to order, so please allow 6 to 8 weeks for production and shipment. Because each seat is built to your options, returns and cancellations carry a 20% fee. We are an authorized Seat Concepts dealer, and every seat is built with Seat Concepts' proprietary foam formula and individually inspected before shipment.
