Africa Twin Comfort Seat Cover FAQ (2016 to 2019)
What is the Seat Concepts Africa Twin Comfort Seat Cover?
The Seat Concepts Africa Twin Comfort Seat Cover is a Foam & Cover Kit for the CRF1000L Africa Twin, made for multi-day touring and technical trails. It is not a complete seat. It uses Seat Concepts' high-density foam, which resists breakdown and fatigue longer than the factory material. It is an Africa Twin comfort seat kit built for long days, with a width of 11-3/4 inches (298 mm).
Which Africa Twin years does it fit?
This Honda Africa Twin seat fits the CRF1000L Africa Twin from 2016 to 2019, and the Adventure Sports. For 2020 and newer bikes, see the Africa Twin Comfort Seat for 2020 and newer.
What is the Africa Twin seat height, and what does this kit change?
Honda gives the 2017 to 2019 Africa Twin seat height as 34.3 inches, or 33.5 inches in the low position, and 36.2 or 35.4 inches on the Adventure Sports. On the standard Africa Twin the Comfort Seat Cover keeps the factory height, and on the Adventure Sports it sits 1 inch (25 mm) lower than the factory seat. That is the 2017 Africa Twin seat height change.
Is there an Africa Twin low seat?
For an Africa Twin low seat on the Adventure Sports, the Comfort Seat Cover sits 1 inch (25 mm) lower than the factory seat. On the standard Africa Twin it matches the factory height, so a Honda Africa Twin low seat from us is an Adventure Sports upgrade.
Is this an Africa Twin seat upgrade, and what are my options?
It is an Africa Twin seat upgrade sold as kits. You choose the Foam & Cover Kit for the front seat, the Foam & Cover Kit + Rear Cover, the Front & Rear Foam & Cover Kit, or the Rear Foam & Cover Kit alone. You also choose the cover: carbon fiber sides with a diamante top, carbon fiber sides with a gripper top, or black vinyl sides with a blue vinyl top.
How do the cover tops differ?
Black diamante is a suede-like synthetic made to match the factory synthetic suede on production street and adventure bikes, and it is flexible with moderate grip. The gripper top is the high-grip choice. Black vinyl is a semi-smooth vinyl-based material with the classic Seat Concepts look and low grip, so you can move freely on the seat.
Is this the Africa Twin Seat Concepts seat for touring?
Yes. If you searched for an Africa Twin Seat Concepts seat, this is the Comfort version for the 2016 to 2019 bike. The Rally version has a different width, 11.5 inches (292 mm), and is a taller shape.
How long does an Africa Twin seat take to arrive?
Every Seat Concepts kit is made to order, so please allow 6 to 8 weeks for production and shipment. Because each kit is built to your options, returns and cancellations carry a 20% fee. We are an authorized Seat Concepts dealer, and every kit is built with Seat Concepts' proprietary foam formula and individually inspected before shipment.
