Product Description
Original tanks on a Willys Pickup this old are almost always rusted through by now, and finding a good used one is a coin flip at best. This MTS replacement ships complete with the 5-piece strap kit and sending unit gasket needed for installation, matching the top-mounted fuel pickup design of the original. An in-line fuel filter is required, same as it was from the factory.
Ethanol-blended modern fuel is harder on decades-old steel tanks than the gasoline they were designed around, accelerating the corrosion that eventually perforates the metal. Molded in cross-linked polyethylene, this replacement doesn't have that failure mode at all — it just needs to be the correct fitment, which is where the details below matter.
