Product Description
This is the Scott's steering stabilizer on its own, part 4200-00. It is the damper that every Scott's kit builds around, and it is the same part for almost every bike. The part that changes from bike to bike is the mount kit. If you do not own a Scott's stabilizer yet, a complete kit for your bike includes this stabilizer and the mount.

Questions riders ask
What is a Scott's steering stabilizer?
It is a compact hydraulic damper that mounts at the steering head, above the bar mount. It slows sudden left to right movement of the bars. Scott's says the damping is adjustable, including while you ride. Our guide explains who benefits from one.
Is a stabilizer the same as a damper?
Scott's uses the two words for the same product. Some sellers call a unit with a centering spring a stabilizer, so check the spec of anything you compare. More in the damper versus stabilizer guide.
Does it fit my bike?
That depends on the make, model and model year, because the mounts change by bike. Use the fitment bar at the top of the page, then match the part number on the kit to your year.
Can I buy only the stabilizer or only a mount kit?
Yes. Scott's sells its parts singly. The stabilizer (part 4200-00) is the same for almost every bike, and the mount kit is the part that fits your bike. Choosing a kit explains which to pick.
Where are the instructions?
Scott's publishes instructions for its kits. Our install guide covers what to check before you start and how to set the damping.
What is a tank slapper, and do I need a Scott's steering stabilizer?
A tank slapper is a fast side to side shake of the handlebars. Our guides explain what causes it and how to decide whether you need a stabilizer: tank slappers, speed wobble and head shake and do you need a steering stabilizer.
