Product Description
This is the plastic-style OEM tank replacement for the YJ Wrangler — a rectangular sending unit hole and built-in fuel bowl, covering both the 20-gallon 1987-1990 tank and the 15-gallon 1991-1995 tank under one part number. It works with or without fuel injection, but it's a match for the plastic tank only; the earlier round-hole metal tank is a different part (SKU 0062).
Steel OEM tanks corrode from the inside out as ethanol-blended fuel picks up moisture over the years, and once rust perforates the metal there's no patching it — a full replacement is the only real fix. This tank is molded in high-density cross-linked polyethylene specifically because it doesn't rust, pit, or corrode the way steel does, so once it's installed correctly it's not something you'll be revisiting.
