Like the Willys Station Wagon of the same era, the Jeepster's factory tank has no vent neck by design — it relies on a vented gas cap and an in-line filter to run right, so both are worth having on hand before you install this one. Rated at 15 gallons total with roughly 13 gallons of usable liquid capacity, it ships with the 5-piece strap kit and sending unit gasket.
Steel OEM tanks corrode from the inside out as ethanol-blended fuel picks up moisture over the years, and once rust perforates the metal there's no patching it — a full replacement is the only real fix. This tank is molded in high-density cross-linked polyethylene specifically because it doesn't rust, pit, or corrode the way steel does, so once it's installed correctly it's not something you'll be revisiting.
