This oversized 15-gallon tank mounts behind the rear axle on the Jeep DJ and ships with a new lock ring and gasket, but it isn't a standalone drop-in — you'll need the OEM-style skid plate, top strap, and end straps to complete the install, and MTS notes the skid plate can require some custom fitting to the frame. Worth knowing going in rather than finding out mid-install.
Ethanol-blended modern fuel is harder on decades-old steel tanks than the gasoline they were designed around, accelerating the corrosion that eventually perforates the metal. Molded in cross-linked polyethylene, this replacement doesn't have that failure mode at all — it just needs to be the correct fitment, which is where the details below matter.
