Clarke straight petcock with groove
The Clarke plastic fuel tank that I purchased from Hodaka parts was shipped with a non grooved straight petcock. I determined that I would need a second petcock for the other half of the tank(high hump) so I ordered another Hodaka tank installation kit not knowing that I could order just the petcock the kit arrived without the petcock and installation foam when those were shipped I received a grooved straight petcock and the foam I then installed the. Tank on the bike the next morning after I had left for work my wife called me to tell me that she smelled gas and the gas tank was leaking and she didn’t know what to do so I left work and came home to the handle the emergency the o ring on the non grooved straight petcock the o ring had shifted even though it was installed so the flange was parallel to the bottom of the tank the result was a half a gallon of gas on the floor. After airing out the garage I ordered another straight grooved petcock and since have not had a leak. You should update your Hodaka kit to include 2 straight grooved petcocks and save others the hassles that I went through just get a solution to a rusted stock Steel Hodaka tank.
