The seal that goes with all three nipple fittings above (CJFHN-2, -3, -4) — cheap insurance to replace at the same time rather than reusing a hardened original.
Ethanol-blended fuel is harder on old rubber hose than the straight gasoline these vehicles were designed around, which is why filler and vent hoses from this era are usually the first fuel-system part to fail. This one is sized to the original diameter and length so it seats and clamps the way the factory hose did.
