Covers the 13.5 and 20.2-gallon XJ tank for the carbureted 2.5L four — part of a three-way engine split (see JWSU-5D for diesel, JWSU-5V6 for the carbureted V6) across the early XJ years.
A sending unit that's dragging or corroded inside the tank can also starve the engine of fuel under hard acceleration, not just throw off the gauge reading — it's a fuel-delivery part as much as an instrumentation one. Matching the ohm range and pump configuration exactly is what restores both functions at once.
