Mid-production 1978 through early 1980, Jeep moved the J-Series filler and vent necks to the front of the tank instead of the side — an easy way to tell this apart from SKU 0012's side-fill version even though the capacity and dimensions match. If your truck is an '80-'84 model, contact MTS directly to confirm fitment before ordering.
By the time a steel tank rusts through, the fuel it's been holding has usually already picked up rust flakes that foul filters and injectors downstream. Swapping to this polyethylene tank removes that source of contamination for good, provided the capacity and mounting details match your application exactly.
