Rear/aft-axle 40-gallon diesel tank for the 6.0L/7.3L Super Duty, built for the 6-bolt sending unit style — the lock-ring version of this same truck uses a different tank (SKU 4740E). Ships with the sending unit gasket, 6 bolts, thread sealer, and both hold-down rings, but the sending unit and emission valve are reused from your original. Cross-references to eight OEM part numbers.
Ethanol-blended modern fuel is harder on decades-old steel tanks than the gasoline they were designed around, accelerating the corrosion that eventually perforates the metal. Molded in cross-linked polyethylene, this replacement doesn't have that failure mode at all — it just needs to be the correct fitment, which is where the details below matter.

⚠ Compatibility Note: 6-bolt sending unit style only — for lock-ring style, see SKU 4740E. Trucks with F53 in VIN positions 5-7 and OEM tank #1C34-9K007-F/G/H are 1" shorter with a larger filler pipe; this tank fits but the straps need custom adjustment. Sending unit, emission valve, and O-rings not included.
✓ Appearance Note: Because each tank is custom molded, you may occasionally notice minor cosmetic surface bubbles left over from the molding process. This is purely cosmetic, has no effect on performance or durability, and doesn't occur on every unit — every tank is individually pressure-tested before it ships to confirm a leak-free seal.
