Product Description
The lock-ring version of the 40-gallon rear Super Duty diesel tank — mechanically different from the 6-bolt version (SKU 4740A), so check your original sending unit's retaining style before ordering either one. This is a bare tank: sending unit, gasket, emission valve, and O-ring all carry over from your original.
By the time a steel tank rusts through, the fuel it's been holding has usually already picked up rust flakes that foul filters and injectors downstream. Swapping to this polyethylene tank removes that source of contamination for good, provided the capacity and mounting details match your application exactly.

This is purely cosmetic, has no effect on performance or durability, and doesn't occur on every unit — every tank is individually pressure-tested before it ships to confirm a leak-free seal.
