Product Description
Later rear/aft-axle F-Series tank, 18.2-19 gallons depending on model, gas or diesel, covering everything from the F-150 through F-Super Duty. MTS added extra reinforcing plastic around the sending unit hole on this tank — it won't interfere with diesel units or gas in-tank pumps from 1985-1989, but the fuel modules Ford introduced in 1990 may need it trimmed to a crescent shape before the module fits. Full trimming instructions are included with the tank.
A pinhole rust leak in an old steel tank rarely stays a pinhole for long, and by the time it's obvious, the surrounding metal is usually too thin to weld safely. This polyethylene replacement sidesteps rust entirely, so the installation notes below are what actually determines whether this swap goes smoothly.
