Product Description
Earlier version of the side/midship F-Series tank, for 1980-1983 F-100 and 1980-1984 F-150/F-250/F-350 (gas across the board, diesel from 1983 on). Same emission valve/rollover hole and no-vent-pipe design as the later tank (SKU 4216A), but with a 2" sending unit opening instead of 3.625" — the two aren't interchangeable despite looking similar.
Ethanol-blended modern fuel is harder on decades-old steel tanks than the gasoline they were designed around, accelerating the corrosion that eventually perforates the metal. Molded in cross-linked polyethylene, this replacement doesn't have that failure mode at all — it just needs to be the correct fitment, which is where the details below matter.
