Product Description
For the 16-gallon front/midship/side diesel tank in its earliest 1983-1984 form — the first in a run of near-identical year-specific sending units (see also FMSU-5DES, -6DES, -7DES).
Inside the tank, a sending unit's contacts and float mechanism take a beating from years of fuel exposure and vibration, and once the resistor track wears through, no amount of gauge calibration fixes it. This replacement is built to the original ohm range and mounting spec so it drops in and reads correctly the first time.
