Product Description
This tank is built to the original Willys Station Wagon design, quirks included — the fuel pickup tube sits on top rather than the bottom, and there's no vent neck, so it needs an in-line fuel filter and a vented gas cap to run correctly, just like the factory setup did. It ships complete with a 5-piece strap kit and a new sending unit gasket, cross-referenced to Willys part 906371.
Ethanol-blended modern fuel is harder on decades-old steel tanks than the gasoline they were designed around, accelerating the corrosion that eventually perforates the metal. Molded in cross-linked polyethylene, this replacement doesn't have that failure mode at all — it just needs to be the correct fitment, which is where the details below matter.
